Big, perfectly shaped wakes are the calling card of Malibu’s 2014 Wakesetter 22 VLX.
Featuring a hull designed around the wake and surf crowd, the VLX complements its running surface with a trio of wake-boosting features. There’s the Surf Gate, a pair of movable, vertical tabs extending aft from the corners of the boat’s transom. Tweak their positions to redirect water flow coming off the hull, changing the wake’s converging point and both building and shaping the wake on a surfer’s side of choice without requiring you to reposition your crew or ballast tanks. The gates’ quick 1.5-second actuator time makes side-to-side transfers possible. The surfer is alerted by a transom-mounted horn to time switches.
